The Third Anniversary of the 7 October 2023 Palestinian Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp has been marked in the Zionist-perverted West by concern over the 1,195 Israelis killed (many by the IDF) but the 1,200 Gazans killed on that day are ignored. Likewise Western media (including progressive media) briefly and incorrectly “under-count” in reporting about “74,000” Palestinians subsequently killed. However the true figure from experts is about 1 million Gazans killed by violence and deprivation.
Set out below is a carefully researched and exhaustively referenced catalogue of science-informed expert opinions asserting an Indigenous Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Genocide and Gaza Holocaust of up to about 1 million.
(A). First some important general considerations.
(1). Gaza Genocide and Gaza Holocaust. A “holocaust” involves the deaths of a huge number of people. In contrast “genocide” is precisely defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention thus: “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group [1].
The term “Gaza Holocaust” to describe the killing of 1 million Gazans by Zionist Israelis is appropriate because this is the same order of magnitude as Jewish deaths in the Nazi Germany-imposed WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million deaths from violence and imposed deprivation)[2-4] and the British-imposed WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha by the British with food-denying Australian complicity [5-7]). Indeed the WW2 Bengali Holocaust was the first WW2 atrocity to have been described as a “holocaust” (by N.G. Jog in 1944 [8]).
(2). Avoidable deaths from imposed deprivation. Whether a child is killed violently (by bashing, bullets or bombs) or is killed by imposed deprivation (a more prolonged and agonizing death) the death is just as final and the perpetrators just as culpable [7]. However in reporting deaths in the Gaza Holocaust Western media (including pro-Palestinian progressive media) ignore non-violent Gazan deaths from deprivation (indirect deaths) and only report violent deaths (from bombs and bullets). Surviving parents or family members will bury those dead from lack of water, food, shelter, sanitation, medicine and medical care and not risk exhaustion, serious injury or death by carrying the dead body to an official data-collecting office (if actually existing) many kilometers away.
The wartime ratio of indirect deaths from imposed deprivation to direct, violent deaths ranges from 2 (Iraq War, 1990-2011) to 16 (Afghan War, 2001-2021) [9, 10]. UNICEF Refworld: “The ratio of people killed in war to those dying indirectly because of a conflict is explored in the chapter on indirect deaths (INDIRECT CONFLICT DEATHS). Studies show that between three and 15 times as many people die indirectly for every person who dies violently” [11].
Epidemiologists Rasha Khatib, Martin McKee and Salim Yusufin the prestigious medical journal The Lancet (10 July 2024): “Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death to the 37,396 [violent] deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186,000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza. Using the 2022 Gaza Strip population estimate of 2,375,259, this would translate to 7·9% of the total population in the Gaza Strip” [12], noting that their assessment of direct and indirect deaths = 37,396 x 5 = 186,980 by mid-2024. Eminent UK epidemiologist Professor Devi Sridhar (University of Edinburgh) [14] quoted and made the same assumption as Khatib et al.: “The Lancet medical journal recently published an estimate of deaths in Gaza from several respected scientists, who outline their process of estimation (comparison with similar conflicts) and final numbers. They estimate that about 186,000 total deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza, which is roughly 7.9% of its population, by mid-June 2024. This high number is despite various ceasefire agreements over the past six months. If deaths continue at this rate – about 23,000 a month – there would be an additional 149,500 deaths by the end of the year, some six and half months from the initial mid-June estimate. Using the method, the total deaths since the conflict began would be estimated at about 335,500 in total” [15].
(3). Simplifying assumption of about the same rate of killing averaged over the first 2 years of the Gaza Genocide. The rate of violent killing in Gaza was initially particularly high in October to December 2023 but overall the cumulative violent deaths were a roughly linear function of time over the period October 2023 to December 2025 [16, 17]. This permitted rough estimation by proportional extrapolation of Gaza deaths from violence by Day 731 (i.e. after 2 years of the Gaza Genocide) from deaths measured at prior dates. Thus for example, Jamaluddine et al. [18] determined that violent deaths totalled 64,260 (by Day 269) and hence by 25 April 2025 (Day 569; war dead memorial Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand) one could estimate that 64,260 deaths x 569 Days/269 Days = 136,000 Gazans had died violently by 25 April 2025, and hence (from section #2 above) 680,000 had died from violence and deprivation by 25 April 2025 [19-30]. Similarly 64,260 x 731 Days/269 Days = 175,000 violent deaths after 2 years and hence (from section #2 above) 4 x 175,000 = 700,000 non-violent deaths from deprivation and a total of 875,000 deaths from violence and deprivation in the first 2 years of the Gaza Genocide [31-56].
(B). Estimations of hundreds of thousands up to 1.5 million of Gaza deaths from violence and deprivation.
(1). Dr. Feroze Sidhwa is a general, trauma, and critical care surgeon in California. He is also a humanitarian surgeon who has worked in Palestine, Ukraine, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and Burkina Faso. He most recently volunteered at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, Gaza. His work in Gaza is featured in the new documentary film “American Doctor” [57]. Dr Sidhwa interviewed by American icon Ralph Nader for an update on the death toll in Gaza) (5 October 2026): “So if I had to give an estimate of violent deaths in Gaza it would be between two hundred and four hundred thousand people had been killed, which is an astonishing number that is between ten and twenty percent of Gaza’s population and that is not including deaths from deprivation” [58].
Dr Sidhwa calculated that 19% of journalists had been killed in Gaza and if that applied to the general population of an assumed initial 2.3 million would indicate an absolute upper limit of 437,000 violent deaths (however Dr Sidhwa noted that some journalists may have been specifically targeted by the Zionist Israelis). A mean estimate of 300,000 violent deaths would indicate 4 x 300,000 = 1.2 million deaths from deprivation and deaths from violence and deprivation totalling 1.5 million or 62.5% of the pre-war population of 2.4 million [12]. A conservative estimate of a minimum of 200,000 violent deaths would indicate 1.0 million Gaza deaths in 3 years from violence and deprivation (41.7% of the pre-war population of 2.4 million [12]). As reported in Section C , the genocidal perpetrator Apartheid Israel and the IDF admit to killing “70,000” Gazans [59, 60] and Western Mainstream media report “74,000” violent deaths.
(2). Zeina Jamaluddine , Hanan Abukmail, Sarah Aly, Oona M R Campbell, and Francesco Checchi (epidemiologists and published in the leading medical journal The Lancet estimated ) that 64,260 Gazans had died violently by 30 June 2024 (Day 269 of the killing): “Accurate mortality estimates help quantify and memorialise the impact of war. We used multiple data sources to estimate deaths due to traumatic injury in the Gaza Strip between Oct 7, 2023, and June 30, 2024… We used a three-list capture–recapture analysis using data from Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) hospital lists, an MoH online survey, and social media obituaries. After imputing missing values, we fitted alternative generalised linear models to the three lists’ overlap structure, with each model representing different possible dependencies among lists and including covariates predictive of the probability of being listed; we averaged the models to estimate the true number of deaths in the analysis period (Oct 7, 2023, to June 30, 2024). Resulting annualised age-specific and sex-specific mortality rates were compared with mortality in 2022… We estimated 64 260 deaths (95% CI 55 298–78 525) due to traumatic injury during the study period, suggesting the Palestinian MoH under-reported mortality by 41%. The annualised crude death rate was 39·3 per 1000 people (95% CI 35·7–49·4), representing a rate ratio of 14·0 (95% CI 12·8–17·6) compared with all-cause mortality in 2022, even when ignoring non-injury excess mortality. Women, children (aged <18 years), and older people (aged ≥65 years) accounted for 16 699 (59·1%) of the 28 257 deaths for which age and sex data were available” [18].
In summary, Jamaluddine et al. estimated 64,260 deaths “due to traumatic injury in the 269-day study period” of “between Oct 7, 2023, and June 30, 2024” [18]. Accordingly (assuming the same rate of killing) 64,260 killed x 731 days)/269 days = 175,000 Gazans violent deaths by 7 October 2025 (day 731 i.e. after 2 years of killing) and a total of 875,000 deaths from violence and deprivation in the first 2 years of the Gaza Genocide [18, 56].
(3). Ralph Nader (famed American journalist, consumer advocate and former presidential candidate) (22 June 2026): “The Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health certifies deaths in Gaza based on reports from hospitals and morgues that were mostly blown up well over a year ago. (They report presently around 73,000 fatalities.)…They also say their figures do not include the collateral deaths (e.g., spreading fires) from the Israeli military F-16 bombings and relentless shelling of the people of Gaza or the deaths caused by the Israeli government-imposed blocking of food, medicine, healthcare, water, fuel, electricity and shelter. From other conflict zones around the world, the ratio of collateral deaths is anywhere from 3 to 13 times the deaths by violent weaponry. The Israeli regime is fine with the Hamas undercount because they and the US State Department know the real death toll (along with the injury count) is much, much higher… Well, the death toll is much higher, over 600,000 lives destroyed or over 25% of Gaza’s original population. This leaves an improbable nearly 75% still alive, though most are sick, injured or dying. Reporting reality would intensify the political, diplomatic and civic determination to stop the killing, let in adequate humanitarian aid and move toward resolving this conflict. Analysts reported by The Lancet, international relief organizations, universities and UN agencies all estimate hundreds of thousands of dead Palestinians from violent bombs, artillery, snipers and the resultant, related secondary effects noted above” [61].
(4). Rasha Khatib, Martin McKee and Salim Yusuf (epidemiologists) (10 July 2024): “By June 19, 2024, 37 396 people had been killed in the Gaza Strip since the attack by Hamas and the Israeli invasion in October, 2023, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, as reported by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs…In recent conflicts, such indirect deaths range from three to 15 times the number of direct deaths. Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death to the 37 396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186 000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza. Using the 2022 Gaza Strip population estimate of 2 375 259, this would translate to 7·9% of the total population in the Gaza Strip” [12]. Analysis: Assuming 4 indirect deaths per direct death, 5 x 37,396 = 186,980 deaths from violence and deprivation by 19 June 2024 (Day 258 of the Gaza Massacre), and this means (assuming the same rate of killing) 186,980 x731/258 = 530,000 such deaths after 2 years of killing (day 731).
(5). Professor Devi Sridhar (eminent epidemiologist, chair of global public health at the prestigious University of Edinburgh, and adviser to the UK and Scottish governments during the COVID-19 Pandemic [14]) (5 September 2024): “The Lancet medical journal recently published an estimate of deaths in Gaza from several respected scientists, who outline their process of estimation (comparison with similar conflicts) and final numbers. They estimate that about 186,000 total deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza, which is roughly 7.9% of its population, by mid-June 2024. This high number is despite various ceasefire agreements over the past six months. As explained in A(2) and A(3) above, this would mean 530,000 deaths from violence and deprivation in 2 years of killing. For a further assessment from Professor Sridhar see B(6) below.
(6). Kevin Maiman (Canadian CBC News journalist) (13 February 2025): “1.7 million’ Palestinians in Gaza? Trump’s statement raises questions about death toll. U.S. president’s plan to relocate ‘1.7 or 1.8 million people’ conflicts with official tallies…President Donald Trump’s assertion that the U.S. can relocate “1.7 or 1.8 million” Palestinians has raised questions about the death toll in Gaza. Trump made the comments last week while announcing a surprise plan to take over the region, which has been devastated by the Israel-Hamas war that began in October 2023. Gaza’s population was estimated at over 2.2 million before the war, and the Gaza Health Ministry’s official death count sits at 48,297. Devi Sridhar, chair of global public health at the University of Edinburgh, says she found Trump’s numbers “puzzling” — and a potential confirmation that the death toll is actually much higher, something researchers, doctors and public health experts have long said was the case” [62].
According to The Guardian and AP, Trump (who gets top intelligence from the CIA and NSA) told reporters on Air Force One (26 January 2025): “I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations and build housing at a different location where they can maybe live in peace for a change. You’re talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing and say: ‘You know, it’s over.’” [63, 64]. According to Sa’ed Atshan about 100,000 Gazans had escaped to Egypt (31 October 2024): “The humanitarian discourse on Palestine has arrived at a new level of superlative language being used to capture the cruelty of Israel’s assaults on the children, women, and men of Gaza, with fears of looming threats to the West Bank, and a U.S.-backed, far-right Israeli state fantasizing on the transfer of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and from the West Bank to Jordan. While both of these neighboring states reject such complicity in ethnic cleansing, one hundred thousand Gazans are estimated to have fled to Egypt since October 7, 2023, and the majority of Jordan’s population have long been Palestinian” [65].
Assuming that the pre-Gaza Genocide Gaza population was 2.4 million [12] and that 0.1 million Gazans had escaped to Egypt [65] one can calculate 2.4 million (pre-Gaza Genocide population) – 1.5 million (left) – 0.1 million (in Egypt) = 0.8 million “disappeared” (i.e. 0.8 million killed) as of 26 January 2025 (Day 417). Accordingly 0.8 million x 731/ 417 = 1.4 million killed by Day 731 (i.e. after 2 years of killing).
(7). Mona Chalabi (a British, Pulitzer Prize-winning data journalist, illustrator and writer of Iraqi descent, known for her articles in The New York Times and The Guardian.): “I spoke to two co-authors of the Lancet letter, Salim Yusuf and Rasha Khatib, about the eventual death toll in Gaza. Yusuf, the director of the Population Health Research Institute at McMaster University in Canada, said that early in the conflict, he considered four to one a baseline ratio for Gaza, based on data from previous conflicts: at a minimum, he expected four indirect deaths for every direct death. But now he was worried that the final total could be much higher. In the most recent draft of their analysis, Yusuf and his colleagues found the four-to-one ratio could mean 186,000 total deaths in Gaza. These numbers represent a staggering 8% of Gaza’s 2.4 million people. Khatib, the lead author of the letter and a clinical epidemiologist at Advocate Aurora Research Institute in Wisconsin, told me that these figures should be treated as very rough estimates, not hard predictions. “As healthcare systems collapse, information systems collapse too,” she said. “Direct death figures are going to become less reliable as time goes on, and that’s the most important number to make these projections.” This has already happened. The damage to infrastructure, including hospitals and mortuaries, has meant that Gaza’s health ministry has been obliged to add unidentified bodies to its previously published list of names (the unidentified make up 30% of the total count). Accurate death counts are essential. For accountability to happen, the true cost of war must be understood. And recovery, if there is to be any, requires accurate death counts in order to assess infrastructure and aid needs. What’s more, the dead deserve to be counted. At a minimum, the bereaved hope that their loved ones will be counted among the dead and help to persuade those with power to prevent future casualties. The concept of a martyr or “shahid” to the Palestinian cause has existed since the Israeli occupation first began. For now, though, “the precision of these numbers is not as important as their magnitude,” Yusuf said. Even if the team’s calculations include a large margin of error, the final death toll still probably won’t be measured in tens of thousands – it is likely to be measured in hundreds of thousands” [67].
Analysis: As set out in B(4) above, this indicated 530,00 Gazans killed over the first 2 years.
(8). Dr Gideon Polya (former Australian science academic and prolific humanitarian writer, notably on genocide) and variously co-authored with Professor Richard Hil (Australian sociologist and humanitarian author): “Similarly, from Jamaluddine et al. [18] violent deaths totalled 64,260 (by day 269) and hence by 25 April 2025 (day 569) 136,000 Gazans had died violently, 544,000 had died non-violently and 680,000 had died in total [19-30]. Likewise after 2 years (731 days) of the Gaza Genocide, 64,260 x 731/269 = 175,000 Gazans had died violently (directly), 700,000 had died non-violently (indirectly), and 875,000 Gazans had died in total [31-56 ]… In the absence of other pertinent data one could assume that the relative proportions of children, women and men killed through deprivation were the same as for the reported violent deaths. Thus Euro-Med Human Rights Watch reported violent Gaza deaths being 37.1% children, 23.7%, women and 39.1% men [68]. Applying these relative proportions to 875,000 Gaza deaths from violence and deprivation over 2 years, one estimates that the dead included 325,000 children, 207,000 women and 342,000 men [31-56].
(9). Dr Tarek Loubani (Canadian physician who worked in Gaza): “Hundreds of thousands of dead” [61].
(10). Chris Hedges (Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist, author, commentator and Presbyterian minister) (23 March 2025): “This is the last chapter of the genocide. It is the final, blood-soaked push to drive the Palestinians from Gaza. No food. No medicine. No shelter. No clean water. No electricity. Israel is swiftly turning Gaza into a Dantesque cauldron of human misery where Palestinians are being killed in their hundreds and soon, again, in their thousands and tens of thousands, or they will be forced out never to return… Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza is the inevitable denouement of its settler colonial project and apartheid state. The seizure of all of historic Palestine — with the West Bank soon, I expect, to be annexed by Israel — and displacement of all Palestinians has always been the Zionist goal. Israel’s worst excesses occurred during the wars of 1948 and 1967 when huge parts of historic Palestine were seized, thousands of Palestinians killed and hundreds of thousands [1.2 million] were ethnically cleansed. Between these wars, the slow-motion theft of land, murderous assaults and steady ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, continued. That calibrated dance is over. This is the end. What we are witnessing dwarfs all the historical assaults on Palestinians. Israel’s demented genocidal dream — a Palestinian nightmare — is about to be achieved. It will forever shatter the myth that we, or any Western nation, respect the rule of law or are the protectors of human rights, democracy and the so-called “virtues” of Western civilization. Israel’s barbarity is our own. We may not understand this, but the rest of the globe does” [69].
(11). John Menadue (eminent former Australian public servant and founder of the informed, progressive and truth-telling Australian daily web magazine “Pearls and Irritations”) (5 September 2025): “The widely “accepted” figure for Palestinian deaths in Gaza is more than 63,000. That is horrific enough , but the number is more likely nearer 300,000. And our media don’t care” [70].
(12). Adam Rzepka ( Montclair State University and a co-founder of Montclair States Chapter of the Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine) (23 August 2025) “The minimum scientifically plausible number of traumatic deaths only — immediate deaths from bullets, bombs, and demolished buildings — in the Gaza genocide is currently more than 115,000. The minimum scientifically plausible number of deaths attributable to the genocide overall is more than 460,000” [70, 71].
(13). Professor Stuart Rees (Professor Emeritus at the University of Sydney, recipient of the Jerusalem (Al Quds) Peace Prize and founder of the prestigious Sydney Peace Prize) (9 October 2025): “ The death toll in the so-called Gaza war 2023-2025 should also affect the West’s certainty that one terrorist organisation in one horrendous attack in October 2023 is responsible for decades of slaughter. Such reasoning is inaccurate, one-sided and deceiving. Hamas health sources’ figures put the death toll of Gazan civilians, mostly women and children, at 66,000. Yet, studies in the UK medical journal the Lancet, by US journalist Ralph Nader and by Australian academics Gideon Polya and Richard Hil, estimate that fatalities should also take in death by deprivation, and in consequence they show well over 500,000 deaths” [72].
(14). Andre Damon (writer for World Socialist Web Site, WSWS) (30 January 2026): “After more than two years of dismissing the Gaza Health Ministry’s death toll as “Hamas propaganda,” the Israeli military has officially accepted that approximately 70,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 2023. This belated acknowledgment exposes years of systematic lies by the Israeli government, the imperialist powers and the Western media—all of whom worked in concert to conceal the scale of the genocide… Multiple independent studies suggest the true death toll is far higher. A Lancet study in July 2024 estimated 64,260 traumatic injury deaths by June 30, 2024, more than a year ago. The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research estimated in November 2025 that violent deaths had “likely surpassed 100,000” by October 2025… UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has cited estimates suggesting the real death toll could be as high as 680,000” [73].
(15). Francesca Albanese (lawyer and UN Special Rapporteuron the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories) (15 September 2025): “Seven hundred ten. This is the number of days of absolute horror that the people in Gaza have endured. 65,000 is the number of Palestinians are certain killed [violently], including over, of which 75% are women and children. In fact, we shall start the thinking of 680,000, because this is the number that some scholars and scientists claim being the real death toll in Gaza. And it would be hard to be able to prove or disprove this number, especially if investigators and others remained banned from entering the occupied Palestinian territory, and particularly the Gaza Strip” [74].
(C). Western Mainstream media report 70,000-75,000 violent deaths, ignoring 4 times greater deaths from deprivation (criminal genocide denial and holocaust denial).
Consult Wikipedia’s “Casualties of the Gaza war” and you will find that Western Mainstream media report about 70,000 -75,000 violent deaths in Gaza to the exclusion of hundreds of thousands of deaths from imposed deprivation [75]. Sadly even progressive media under-count the Gaza Genocide.
Thus, for example, the BBC (8 October 2026): “Gaza deaths” “The total death toll from Israeli attacks since the start of the war in Gaza three years ago now stands at more than 74,000, according to the Gaza health ministry” [76].
The Guardian (5 October 2026): “More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war, mostly civilians. The conflict was triggered by a surprise attack by Hamas into Israel in October 2023, in which militants killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took 251 others hostage” [77].
Australian ABC (7 October 2026): “More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to the territory’s Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between civilians and militants in its figures. The numbers from the ministry, part of the Hamas-run government, are seen as generally reliable by UN agencies and independent experts” [78].
Sadly, Al Jazeera (29 September 2026): “New Google Maps images show the scale of Israel’s destruction of Gaza, where more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed” [79].
Sadly, Al Jazeera AJLabs (7 October 2026): “Three years of Israeli attacks have killed at least 74,000 Palestinians, including at least 21,000 children. That is about one in every 30 people, or 3 percent of the pre-war population. The Palestinian Ministry of Health counts only deaths recorded at hospitals or officially registered. The true toll is likely much higher, as it excludes the thousands still buried under rubble or missing” [80].
Sadly, Australia’s Red Flag (Marxist Australian medium) (7 October 2026), “Israel having killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, including over 21,280 children who, according to a UN Commission of inquiry, have been targeted as “part of a deliberate strategy to destroy the future of the Palestinians in Gaza” [81].
Sadly, Australia’s Green Left (16 July 2026): “The numbers are almost impossible to hold in the mind, which is precisely why they must be repeated until they are. More than 73,000 Palestinians killed. More than 21,000 of them children and more than 1000 of them babies who had barely begun to live. Tens of thousands more wounded, maimed, amputated. Nearly 60,000 children orphaned. A ceasefire was declared in October 2025, and still the killing has not stopped” [82].
Huffington Post (7 October 2026); “More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to the territory’s Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between civilians and militants in its figures but says around half were women and children. The numbers from the ministry, part of the Hamas-run government, are seen as generally reliable by U.N. agencies and independent experts” [83].
Major US Mainstream media report “74,000” killed e.g. The Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and the Chicago Tribune.
Sadly even Democratic Socialist New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (7 October 2026) : “I believe that there must be room to mourn every single life. There must be room to mourn the lives of the more than 1,100 Israelis that Hamas killed three years ago. There must be room to mourn the 74,000 Palestinians that the Israeli government has killed since. There must be room to reckon with the ways in which so many New Yorkers’ lives have been shattered” [84].
Fortunately, however, Ralph Nader’s exposure of the Gaza death toll under-count was put on the US Congressional Record on 1 October 2024 by Representative John B. Larson, Democrat, Connecticut as follows – Ralph Nader (1 October 2024) : “One way that the annihilator–Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu–flipped off the meek urgings of President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to “minimize civilian casualties” in Gaza was to say–Don’t lecture me–look at what you did to civilians in Hiroshima (140,000 dead), Nagasaki (70,000 dead) and Dresden (25,000 dead) to crush your enemies. That’s 235,000 dead in two nations with a population at the time of 150 million. In Gaza, a tiny enclave of 2.3 million [others: 2.4 million] long besieged and impoverished people, nearly half of them children, the Israeli regime, a military nuclear superpower, backed unconditionally by the United States government and its demanding lobbies, has far exceeded that three city devastation. The following probative evidence and professional assessments point to a death toll of over 300,000 Palestinians in Gaza [1 October 2024, Day 359; 611,000 by Day 731] with that number at least doubling by end of the year [31 December 2024; Day 452]” [85].
Final comments and conclusions.
20 European countries have criminalized denial or substantial diminution of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million Jews killed by violence and deprivation [2-4]) and variously provide custodial punishment for this offence [86]. However nearly all of these countries ignore and are thus complicit in the Gaza Holocaust (up to 1 million Gazans killed by violence and deprivation) and the century-long Palestinian Holocaust (over 3 million killed by violence and deprivation [56]), support Apartheid Israel (and hence the vile and UN anti-Apartheid Convention-condemned crime of Apartheid [87]), and belong to the all-European International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) that is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic and anti-Arab anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Jewish, Palestinian, Arab and Muslim critics of genocidal Apartheid Israeli crimes as assertedly “antisemitic”) and holocaust-denying (by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and indeed ignoring some 70 genocides and holocausts) [88-91].
The key moral messages from the WW2 Jewish Holocaust – and indeed from all genocides and holocausts – are “zero tolerance for lying”, “zero tolerance for racism”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone”. However these key moral injunctions are grossly violated by genocidal Apartheid Israel and its Zionist supporters. Zionism is genocidal racism in repugnant theory, and in genocidal realization as Apartheid Israel is Nazism without gas chambers but with 90 nuclear weapons, invasion of 18 countries, and sustained ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Palestinians from 4,000-years-old Palestine through dispossession, expulsion, killing, mangling and highly abusive confinement as in West Bank ghettos and the Gaza Concentration Camp.
Those supporting Apartheid Israel are supporting utterly vile Apartheid and thus utterly unfit for decent company, public life and public office [87]. Apartheid Israel rejects a 1-state solution, or a 2-state solution and simply wants all the land of Palestine (and more) but not the Indigenous inhabitants who are to be expelled, killed or highly abusively confined to concentration camps.
The core ethos of Humanity is Kindness and Truth but this is grossly violated by a genocidally racist and egregiously mendacious Apartheid Israel which like its racist Zionist supporters has entrenched bigotry and Orwellian lying. Thus Big Brother in George Orwell’s “1984” asserted that war is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, and 2 plus 2 does not equal 4. Apartheid Israel continually makes war, insists on exceptionalist freedom from humane international conventions, and endlessly lies and censors. In the present context we have the Orwellian absurdity of 200,000 violent deaths plus 800,000 deaths from deprivation equals 74,000 deaths in the Gaza Genocide.
Indeed this travesty is so widespread that at the huge pro-Palestinian rally in Melbourne on Sunday 11 October 2026 to mark 3 years of the Gaza Genocide, an otherwise excellent pro-Palestinian speaker mistakenly and unwittingly adopted the false but entrenched Western Mainstream, IDF, Zionist and Apartheid Israel narrative in referring to “74,000” Gaza deaths. Those under-counting Jewish Holocaust deaths 13-fold are sent to jail in 20 European countries [87]. In Australia (and no doubt in other Western countries) those depriving pets or livestock of basis humane requisites denied the Gazans by the merciless Zionazis – water, food, shelter, humane treatment and medical treatment – are sent to jail.
About 1 million dead in the Gaza Genocide or “74,000”? Sensible people should decide whether to trust the judgement of (A) expert epidemiologists published in the leading medical journal The Lancet, eminent, science-informed humanitarian scholars and writers, the US president-advising CIA and National Security Agency (NSA), and dedicated front-line doctors trying to save lives in Gaza in appalling conditions, or (B) those asserting “74,000” and criminally ignoring deaths from imposed deprivation, namely the mendacious and war criminal Israeli Government and Israel Defence Force (IDF) (directly responsible for the carnage and refusing entry to Gaza of experts to exactly determine the death toll and help the sutvivors ), Hamas (whose extremely unwise Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp gave the genocidal Zionazis the “excuse” for genocide), and the endlessly mendacious and Zionist-perverted Western Mainstream media and politicians deeply complicit in the Gaza Genocide. Surely a no-brainer.
Indeed my country, Zionist-perverted and US lackey Australia, is complicit in the US-Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [93], lies for Apartheid Israel in 35 ways [94, 95], is second only to the US as a supporter of Apartheid Israel and hence of vile Apartheid, and has a cowardly, racist, US lackey and Zionist-perverted Labor Government that refuses to comment on the actual number of Gazans killed and won’t use the terms Palestinian Genocide, Gaza Genocide, Palestinian Holocaust, Gaza Holocaust, Apartheid, Apartheid Israel, and ethnic cleansing (the Opposition Liberal and National Coalition and One Nation parties are even worse). Of 226 Australian Federal parliamentarians only 11 Greens and about 6 like-minded Independents demand strong Australian and global action to stop the Gaza Genocide.
The Gaza Genocide and Gaza Holocaust has been effected by Zionist Israelis now for over 3 years while the World looks on, seemingly unable to curb nuclear-armed, US-backed and genocidally racist Apartheid Israel. This is a stain on Humanity. What can the World do? Fundamentally “all human rights for all” must urgently prevail in Palestine with an end of Apartheid and the illegal Occupation.
